TEHRAN – An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale struck Sayeh Khosh village near the port city of Bandar Lengeh, southern Hormozgan province, early on Saturday, leaving 5 dead and 44 injured so far.
The earthquake occurred at 02:02 a.m. local time at the depth of 10 kilometers, ISNA reported.
A 6.3-magnitude earthquake and a 6.1-magnitude quake followed the first 6.1-magnitude quake. There were more than a dozen aftershocks.
The incident cut power lines in around 2,500 families in the region.
