Pres. Raisi calls for strengthening Tehran-Muscat ties

Speaking on Wednesday in a meeting with Oman Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, President Raisi thanked the Sultan of Oman’s official invitation to visit the country, and said that without doubt these interactions can strengthen relations between the two states and be effective in resolving regional and international issues.

President Raisi noted that the stances of the Omani government have been good, firm and are significantly different from the behavior of some states in the region, adding that Oman’s attention to Palestine, Yemen, and regional issues is significant.

Stressing that the Omani government pays attention to the security of the region, the World of Islam, and the oppressed people in West Asia, President Raisi highlighted that Iran’s ties with Oman are good, but in the field of economic and trade issues there is room for further development and there are significant potentials in both countries that can be used to expand economic and trade ties.

President Raisi invited the Sultan of Oman to visit Tehran, emphasizing that their will and policy in the Islamic Republic of Iran is to develop cooperation with friendly countries, especially Oman.

Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, for his part, appreciated the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran from its neighbors, and said that there are excellent relations between Iran and Oman, which have historically been based on mutual trust and respect, as well as cooperation, and positive cooperation for the benefit of regional and global security.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman stated that certainly President Raisi’s visit to Oman will be a historic trip and will achieve the goals of both nations, adding that Oman will always support the Iranian president’s pragmatic approach in everything he does, and Oman will certainly strive to operationalize his approach to expanding ties.
